"The saxophone has for many years been the victim of a popular misconception that it is “easy to play.”. This point of view might well be corrected with the addition of a single word — “easy to play badly.”'
— Larry Teal, The Art of Saxophone Playing
The saxophone is inherently an uneven instrument. The sound has the tendency of being thin at the top of the horn and spread at the bottom. The expectation of a skilled saxophonist is to mitigate these tendencies to produce an even and controlled sound. In this course you will learn concepts and skills that will lead to significant improvements in your development.
